Ok, I just had the Tom Yum Soup and Pad Thai from Tum Rup Thai in Uptown on Lake Street. Putting it lightly, it was amazing! I mean, super duper delicious. In the past, I really liked the Tom Yum soup from Chiang Mai Thai but this one is as, if not more, delicious than theirs' and a heck of a lot cheaper. Believe me, I have tried countless Tom Yum recipes around the city and none compare. What I liked about the Pad Thai is that it wasn't as dry as I've had it in the past and it packed in a ton of flavor. My husband also said it was the best Pad Thai he had had. Ever.
I took it take out so I cannot comment on the overall decor or service, but good food is good food right.? A co-worker of mine and I were talking today about how there generally is 1 or maybe a couple dishes on every restaurant's menu that run circles over the other dishes and these are two that fit that bill. Give them a try.
What's your favorite Thai dish/restaurant? Also, does anyone have a great Tom Yum recipe?
